Thanks to my numerous trips to Japan, I discovered the art and philosophy of ink painting.
Since 2001 I have been studying the Sumi-e Art in Tokyo in the ateliers of highly recognized masters. Since 2012 until today I have been continuously perfecting my skills in the atelier of Master Tohun Kobayashi,
In 2014 I received the diploma of teacher of Sumie awarded by The Sumie Japan Association.
In 2020 I have received a Special Award of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the totality of my works and my contribution to the promotion of the Japanese art and ink painting outside Japan.
I run courses of Japanese painting in Zurich, in the Museum of Japanese Art and Technology ‘Manggha” In Cracow, in Warsaw (Poland) and in Ekō-Haus in Düsseldorf, Germany. I also organize special workshops during the year, and especially in summer.
During my courses, workshops and private lessons you will learn:
- the proper usage of the Japanese materials you need
- basic and advanced techniques theoretical knowledge about Japanese sumi-e painting and Japanese philosophy
- a variety of themes (bamboo, pine tree, plum blossom, cherry blossom, iris, camellia, tulip, wisteria, azalea, rose, rocks, mountains, landscape, birds, insects and much more)
- the rules of composition
- the rules of creating one complete painting with all important elements
I always demonstrate several times all steps by myself and correct all students giving them instructions for the further improvement.
